Sell plenty and get treated like royalty for an epic week in Western Australia

The Global Stars 2017 event saw 175 top-selling agents (myself included yay!) from around Australia and New Zealand to experience the best of Western Australia. The event was supported by Tourism WA and included networking events, a “famil” trip and an awards gala with special events held in Perth.

Day one: Crown Towers Perth– Ultra Luxury in Australia’s most expensive hotel.
Luckily living in Perth I only had to catch a train to our hotel where we’d be based for the first two nights. Crown Towers opened in December 2016 and is Perth’s first 6 star hotel. The $650 million hotel has 500 guest rooms and villas, some with city and river views, a beautiful heated lagoon pool with private cabanas, the most luxurious gym I’ve ever been in and a huge buffet breakfast at Epicurean featuring the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest freestanding chocolate fountain.

THE ROOM
Interior architect Michael Fiebrich designed Crown Towers 500 rooms which range from deluxe king rooms to deluxe villas. While we didn’t have a view of the city and the river, our room was still pretty speccy. We had a beautiful stone bathtub, lush dressing gowns, a Nespresso coffee machine and Koko Black chocolates at turndown.

CROWN SPA AND FITNESS CENTRE
I arrived early prior to check in so I could use the gym until my room was ready. Check in wasn’t until 2pm but at 11am I had already received a text from reception saying my room was good to go. The Fitness Centre is complimentary to hotel guests and features some very new cardio and weight equipment. I was pretty excited to see a squat rack! The Fitness Centre is even open 24 hrs. I didn’t experience the spa but it features an aroma steam room, Roman hot tub and sauna.

THE FOOD
Crown Towers signature restaurant is Epicurean, offering buffet breakfast plus lunch and dinner menus. With four live cooking stations, a whole section of cheeses, breads and cold meats, fresh fruit, pastries, sweets and the huge chocolate fountain there are plenty of food options for breakfast. You can even go to Epicurean for high tea on Sunday afternoons.

THE POOL
With seven choices of pool side lounging from teardrop pods to partially submerged lounges there’s plenty of space to soak up some sunshine. The area features the main pool over five levels, a separate spa, a childrens pool and the Enclave which features private cabanas with an infinity pool overlooking the Swan River. Each cabana has an indoor couch, two sun beds, a mini bar and a TV.

Lunch and networking at Sandalford Winery, Swan Valley
In the afternoon we boarded several coaches to the Swan Valley where we’d be having lunch at Sandalford Winery, sponsored by Jetstar Airways. After a delicious lunch and some wine tastings we met with different suppliers in the travel industry. We ended the day with a cocktail party at Little Creatures Brewery in Fremantle thanks to Qantas.

Day two: Rottnest Island with bike hire
I was lucky enough to get my first preference for our day activities in Perth- Rottnest Island with bike hire. On arriving at Fremantle Port we boarded our Rottnest Express ferry for the 45 minute journey. Rottnest is one of my favourite trips to make from Perth for a weekend of camping, cycling, snorkelling and quokka selfies.

The evening started with a cocktail reception in the Crown Ballroom Foyer before our dinner and awards presentation. Shane Jacobson a.k.a Kenny was our MC for the night and kept us entertained we also had a live band and a performance by 100% Kylie. Dinner was sponsored by Royal Caribbean International. On to the awards ceremony and I was awarded Brand Advocate for Insider Journeys. WOW! I made my way on stage in my dress designed by local Perth designer, Only One Ashley. On our return to the room I found the iconic blue Tiffanys box on my bed- eeek! What a night!

Cya later Perth! We flew up to Learmonth Airport (Exmouth) with Qantas Airways and were transferred to our hotel for the next three nights- Mantarays Ningaloo Resort. Mantarays is the only resort on sunrise beach and boasts a Gold Plate award winning restaurant, a beautiful pool, a small gym and some rooms come with a spa on the private balcony. After lunch at Mantarays Restaurant we had some time to chill and enjoy some drinks by the pool at sunset before heading to Froth Craft for dinner. Froth Craft is a micro-brewery, restaurant and music venue that only opened early 2017. I highly recommend the fish tacos!
